
Currently, in accordance with an agreement signed with the Ministry of Innovative Development, 105 scientific and educational organizations of the Republic of Uzbekistan have subscribed to the link.springer.com platform of Springer Nature Publishing. Employees of these organizations have the ability to search and select journals without restrictions, read and download current scientific articles and research reports, and use the platform remotely after registration. Thus, from January 1 to June 31, 2020, 3,266 private users of these organizations were registered for remote use (as of June 31, 2020).
In January-July 2020, the Springer Nature link.springer.com website was visited by 4,736 people from Uzbekistan, the number of visits was 15,827, the number of pages viewed was 134,470.
According to statistics, the link.springer.com platform is popular among Uzbek scientists. Thus, in January 2020, 4077 articles were downloaded, in February – 11676, in March 2020 – 9740, in April – 5660, in May – 4067 and in June – 13398. A slight decrease in the number of downloads in March, April and May 2020 due to the spread of the coronavirus and the announcement of quarantine. It should be noted that in June 2020, the number of downloads increased significantly. This can be explained by the increase in the number of webinars for users organized by the Center for Scientific and Technical Information and the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Demand for modern research and educational literature is growing among scientists, researchers and students of Uzbekistan. Currently, the number of online requests from Uzbek organizations and scientists to download books in various fields is growing.
By the number of articles published in journals on the link.springer.com platform in January-June 2020, the most published scientific areas in Uzbekistan are: physics – 28%, engineering – 19%, pharmaceuticals – 15%, Mathematics – 15%, chemistry – 8%, other sciences – 15%.
